CHP stands for ‘Combined Heat and Power’ and is a very economical way of generating heat and electricity.

To keep the engine cool, it has a closed circuit of fresh water circulating around it and removing the waste heat. This heat is then passed through a heat exchanger and cooled by the ambient air.

Our CHP dry air coolers can be offered with up to three separate cooling circuits for gas and diesel genset cooling. These units come as a blow through style fan arrangement due to the high air temperatures and with a small footprint.

Power Generation

This particular site was for a STOR power generator (Short Term Operating Reserve) and was designed to give increased power demand relatively quickly, to reduce network stress at peak usage times.

Our solution was comprised of five radiators (each with six fans) producing over 5MW of heat rejection (at peak load).
